History of Radom - Wacyn radio station

Rekomendowane odpowiedzi

Today the transmission facility at Wacyn near Radom is used as can be read on http://radiopolska.pl/wykaz/pokaz_lokalizacja.php?pid=117 for FM-broadcasting. But in earlier days it was used according http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radom_longwave_transmitter for non-broadcasting radio transmissions. What kind of transmissions were these and for whom were they addressed? When was the transmitter at Wacyn built? Already before World War II? When was longwave transmission shut down at Wacyn? When were the actual masts of the facility built?

Alpha - it looks like you have your answer thanks to kopijnik2:)
First transmitter at Wacyn was built in 1929 and before 1939, two more masts were built. They were used for radio-telegraphic transmissions (one in Morse code only). Transmitters were built by Marconi" a London based company. They were able to communicate all over the world (Cairo, Tokyo etc.)
